CareSTL Health has immediate openings for Medical Assistants, Registered Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and/or Registered Nurses to serve as COVID Test Collectors. As a COVID Test Collector, you will provide and perform COVID testing for clinic and popup sites.

These positions are temporary and can be filled as part-time or full-time.

Duties:

  • Greets Patient
  • Validates Patient Identification
  • Confirms Patient Lab Requisition
  • Performs Nasopharyngeal Swab
  • (Specimen Collection Process)
  • Observe collection process for potential risk and "Stops the line" as needed
  • Take labeled specimen and place in cooler
  • Log Patient Name, DOB, Date, Time for Lab Reconciliation
  • Gives Patient Education Materials;
  • Instruct Patient to keep windows rolled up, pull up to tent and put car in park until instructed by collector Instruct drivers to roll down windows and keep head inside the car
  • Monitor and report performance measures and outcomes

Qualifications:

Medical Assistant:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED and Certification as graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant School
  • Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience in clinical nursing
  • Other: Must have reliable transportation, current AHA Healthcare Provider Training (BCLS) and current CPR certification

Registered Medical Assistant:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED and Certification as graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant School along with current registration with American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience in clinical nursing
  • Other: Must have reliable transportation, current AHA Healthcare Provider Training (BCLS) and current CPR certification

Licensed Practical Nurse:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required along with valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri required.
  • Experience:1-2 years of experience in a community health center and/or hospital setting. 
  • Other: Must have reliable transportation, current AHA Healthcare Provider Training (BCLS) and current CPR certification

Registered Nurse:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required along with valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri required.
  • Experience:1-2 years of experience in a community health center and/or hospital setting. 
  • Other: Must have reliable transportation, current AHA Healthcare Provider Training (BCLS) and current CPR certification

A Successful Candidate:

  • Knowledge of the concepts and principles of nursing and nursing care
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills with the ability to relate to diverse groups; team building skills; demonstrated leadership qualities including time management skills; verbal and written communication skills; listening skills; problem solving and decision-making skills; critical thinking skills
  • Strong proficiency in use of personal computer software and databases, including the use of electronic health records (EHR) and manipulation of statistical data
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and be directly accountable; demonstrated ability to function effective in a rapidly changing environment; ability to prioritize, delegate, and organize work; ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
