CareSTL Health is seeking full-time a Registration Clerk responsible for completing the patient registration process by collecting patient demographic information and insurance coverage.


  • Interview patients to document necessary demographic information
  • Review appropriate policies and regulations such as HIPAA with the patients
  • Determine appropriate fees based on sliding fee scale
  • Verify and document insurance coverage
  • Establish payment plans as necessary
  • Maintain appropriate information in patients' electronic record as needed
  • Scan documents into patients' electronic record
  • Prepare daily deposits and reconcile tally sheets
  • Refer patients to appropriate resources to apply for alternative methods of funding
  • Assist in the obtaining of referrals/authorization


A Successful Candidate:

  • Good computer skills including MS Office Suite (A test will be given)
  • Excellent oral and written communication, customer service
  • Ability to accurately register and interview clients
  • Ability to follow appropriate rules/regulations to protect the organization
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to read and interpret materials
  • Ability to use initiative and be flexible
  • Detail-oriented, organizational and mathematical skills
  • Ability to use a 10 key calculator and credit card machine
  • Capable of making bank deposits



  • Education:  High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Experience:  1-2 years experience in a health care setting as Registration Clerk or related field. 1-2years experience in customer service which included the collection of data.
  • Other:  Must have reliable transportation.
