CareSTL Health is seeking a competent Behavioral Health Consultant that provides behavioral health consultation to children, adolescents, adults and families in order to improve their overall psychosocial functioning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health clients
  • Provides effective treatment planning and assisting clients in successfully achieving goals.
  • Provides assessment, consultation, and brief intervention for psychological/psychiatric problems and/or disorders. Assists the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management of chronic disease.
  • Evaluates crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions .Assists in the detection of "at risk" patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration
  • Work as a member of the Care Team to improve health outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Master's Degree in Counseling or PhD in Clinical Psychology required

Experience: 

  • A minimum of three (3) years of counseling experience required
  • Experience in delivering behavioral health required
  • Knowledge of DSM IV 5 axis diagnosis required
  • Experience in an integrated health care environment preferred
  • Experience in Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and NCQA Standards preferred

Licensure Requirements:

  • Licensed in the State of Missouri as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), License Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Psychologist.
