CareSTL Health is seeking full-time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) responsible for rendering nursing care to all who need them regardless of socioeconomic status. We are looking for professionals to address individualized patent needs by utilizing recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the registered nurse.


  • Evaluate patient to determine level of care, home planning, other needs, and action plans
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments with proper knowledge of purpose and adverse effects of nursing care provided
  • Assist with providing patient care: record vital signs, discuss and record chief health concerns, perform tests, and administer injections
  • Place phone calls to pharmacies to order prescriptions and set-up referral contacts
  • Complete expanded assessment of patient at time of initial/new clinic encounter
  • Facilitate investigations while handling medical and treatment referrals
  • Advise patients and help them understand their conditions and treatment options
  • Ensure that patient tests are appropriate and necessary
  • Coordinate the integration of social services/case management function
  • Evaluate patient satisfaction and quality of care provided
  • Refer cases where patients and/or family would benefit from counseling
  • Assist with daily preparation of exam rooms and by securing supplies and equipment
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with scope of practice
  • Prepare equipment and aid their Physician during treatment and examination of patient
  • Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor as necessary


A Successful Candidate:

  • Knowledge of information and techniques in providing excellent patient care
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as electronic transmission via facsimile and/or  internet
  • Good computer skills including the use of office procedures and terminology
  • Good self motivational and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work all health center sites
  • Understanding of the complexities of integrating services
  • Knowledge of data management through use of IT



  • Education:  
    • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required.
    • Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri required.
    • Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS) required.
  • Experience:
    •  1-2 years of experience in a community health center and/or hospital setting
  • Other:  Must have reliable transportation.
