CareSTL Health is seeking a Nurse Educator to provide education and evaluation to nursing and patient care staff.  In addition, facilitate evidenced-based research within a specialized area of nursing, collaborate with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for a specialized group of patients, and perform direct specialty nursing services to patients as required, ensuring adherence to CareSTL Health standards and all related policies, procedures, and guidelines.


  • Provides and assists educational leadership with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care to patients and care providers to enhance specialized patient care within established healthcare setting in addition to coordinating in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.
  • Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff, and unit management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula.
  • Initiates skills development programs within the parameters of established care models; monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
  • Provides direct specialized nursing services to an assigned group of patients, providing specialized patient care within nursing protocols and assisting in the performance of all related nursing duties.
  • Educates and ensures technical and patient care staffs proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.



  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Missouri
  • Current CPR Certification required; AHA Healthcare Provider training (BLS) preferred


  • 1-2 years of experience in a community health center and/or healthcare setting, and
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching/educating/training in either public health, industrial, ambulatory care, or related setting.


  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to travel and have the ability to work at all CareSTL Health center sites

A Successful Candidate:

  • Must have knowledge of information and techniques in providing excellent patient care
  • Must have knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as electronic transmission via facsimile and/or the internet as well as knowledge of data management through the use of IT
  • Good computer skills including the use of office procedures and terminology
  • Good self-motivated and organizational skills and capable of performing administrative tasks, supervising staff, and working with community stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able have a good understanding of the complexities of integrating services
