CareSTL Health. is seeking a full-time Telecommunications Operator (Switchboard) to operate telephone business systems equipment, switchboard and intercom to relay incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls and messages.  Provide information to callers and responds to record messages in a timely manner. 

Duties:

  • Ability to manage a large volume of incoming and outgoing calls in a timely manner
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to appropriately articulate organizational information including site locations, hours of operations, services and programs, registration required documents, etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn information pertinent to the customer's needs such as Provider and employee names and site locations
  • Effectively use established Codes to facilitate emergency response activation

  • Ability to work within a clinical environment
  • Excellent telephone operating skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of calls
  • Ability to diffuse irate callers
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Able to work with a variety of teams, individuals and departments
  • Punctuality a must

Qualifications:

  • Education:  High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Experience: 
    • 1-2 years in customer service
    • 1-2 years managing high volume calls
    • Background working in a clinical environment is preferred

Other:  Must have reliable transportation.
