Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Health Centers, Inc. is seeking a Board Certified Ophthalmologist to diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries of eyes.

  • Examines patient for symptoms indicative of organic or congenital ocular disorders
  • Determines nature and extent of injury or disorder
  • Prescribes and administers medications, and admits patients to hospitals if indicated
  • Directs remedial activities to aid in regarding vision, or utilize sight remaining by instructing patient in eye exercise
  • Participates in the health center's Performance Improvement program
  • Assists in the formulation and implementation of the health center's health care plan.
  • Practices Evidence Base Medicine
  • Uses electronic health record for documentation
  • Completes and signs encounter note(s) within 24-48 hours
  • Orders Lab test(s) in the electronic health record
  • Reviews and signs/dates lab tests results daily both in electronic health record and printed results, when indicated
  • Reviews and signs/dates radiology reports daily
  • Follows recall policy for abnormal tests
  • Uses electronic health record for prescribing corrective glasses via e prescribe and to document patient's medications


A Successful Candidate:

  • Effective clinical and communication skills



  • Education:  Board Certification as an Ophthalmologist licensed to practice in the State of Missouri required.
  • Other:  2 years experience along with experience supervising Ophthalmic Technicians. Must maintain hospital-admitting privileges at appropriate hospitals. Must have reliable transportation.
