Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Health Centers, Inc. is seeking a Director of Development responsible for securing grant, and other funding opportunities, managing fundraising campaigns, and providing leadership oversight to the organizations foundation, fundraising advisory boards and associated committees.



  • Create and execute annual and multi-year fundraising plans in support of the organization's mission and fundraising goals
  • Research prospective donors (individuals, corporations and foundations, etc.) and establish reliable records about new potential sources for contributed income
  • Maintain timely and accurate systems for receiving, recording and acknowledging all contributions
  • Lead and direct a systematic cycle of appeals for donations to annual operations, and consistently achieve fundraising targets
  • Maintain calendar of relevant grant deadlines and prepare proposals to public & private funding agencies, corporations, and foundations, as consistent with submission guidelines. Produce and submit proposals in a timely fashion, and track status of pending proposals.
  • Take the lead in ensuring adherence to any guidelines provided by the funding source, as well as preparing and submitting any required interim and/or final reports
  • Positively represent the organization to both internal and external constituencies
  • Work closely with accounting staff to review financial reports and to ensure appropriate and accurate restrictions, allocations, spending, and revenue projections
  • Provide leadership oversight to development staff and/or consultants


A Successful Candidate:

  • Excellent and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and self-motivational skills



  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree, with Masters preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in development and fundraising, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • 3+ years of experience in management
  • Other: 
    • Must have reliable transportation.
