Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Health Centers, Inc. is seeking a Director of Nursing to provide support to providers and other professional staff in the implementation of quality patient service delivery that focuses on both the external (patient) and internal (employee) customer.



  • Plans and ensures implementation of educational in services on a quarterly basis for clinical nursing, medical assistants, and patient facilitator staff
  • Works with Site Coordinators to develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Missouri standard of nursing guidelines
  • Ensures ongoing appropriate nursing/support staff staffing pattern and skills levels.
  • Monitors and manages clinic service flow and appraises administration of any issues
  • Schedules work assignments for LPN's, RMA's, and patient facilitators; enforces teamwork in clinical areas
  • Approves employment applications, coordinates activities, and evaluates performance of medical nursing assisting students who intern at the Health Centers, and coordinates activities of all other types of students and contracts related to paraprofessional nursing internship; conducts employment interviews as indicated
  • Provides resolution of clinical nursing, medical assistants, patient facilitator staff problems, and directs unresolved problems to the Corporate Compliance Officer; implements and monitors ongoing staff development plan
  • Actively participates in the Performance Improvement Committee; develops agenda and conducts bi-monthly departmental and Site Coordinators meeting; participates in committee meetings as required
  • Oversees the continual operation of all patient care modules equipment, and notifies appropriate maintenance or service personnel when repairs are required; submits internal and external monthly reports as required
  • Provides departmental orientation with all clinical nursing, medical assistant and patient facilitator staff
  • Serves as interim Site Coordinator as indicated

  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office and electronic health record software (i.e. Intergy)
  • Proven track record of managing support staff with the community based outpatient ambulatory health care facility
  • Ability to function independently and supervise subordinates equitably



  • Education:  Masters degree from an accredited School of Nursing. Valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri required. Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS) required.
  • Experience: Three years of general nursing experience required.  Three years of nurse management experience in a community health center or clinical setting required
  • Other: 
    • Must have reliable transportation.
